VHP Canada calls for action to save Bangladeshi Hindus
VHP Canada has reached out to PM Justin Trudeau, Federal Ministers, MPs, MPPs and other elected representatives to ask for action to protect Bangladeshi Hindus undergoing extreme violence. Following is the letter sent to all MPs and MPPs. We urge all Canadian Hindus and Hindu Temples across the country to reach out to elected representatives and make the same demands at the local level

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Canada urgently calls upon the Canadian government and all elected officials to take immediate and decisive action in response to the appalling violence against the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh. The current situation demands our collective and immediate response to address the grave human rights violations that are unfolding.
Recent reports have unveiled a harrowing reality: Hindu communities in Bangladesh are enduring unprecedented levels of violence and persecution. Hindus, including elected representatives, are being brutally murdered, lynched in public, and subjected to horrific attacks on their temples. Women from the Hindu community are being abducted and raped, and countless temples have been vandalized, burned, and destroyed. This is not merely a crisis; it is a catastrophic assault on the fundamental rights and dignity of a vulnerable minority.
The urgency of the situation cannot be overstated. The Canadian government, known for its commitment to human rights and justice, must now act with the same resolve. We call on you to:
- Issue a Strong Condemnation: Publicly denounce the violence and persecution against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. A clear and unequivocal statement from Canada will reaffirm our nation’s stance on human rights and religious freedom.
- Champion International Intervention: Use Canada’s influence to advocate for international measures to protect the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. Mobilizing global pressure can be instrumental in halting these atrocities and ensuring accountability.
- Provide Refuge to Victims: Implement an expedited process for granting express visas to Bangladeshi Hindus seeking asylum in Canada. This immediate action will offer a critical lifeline to those fleeing the rampant violence and persecution.
The VHP Canada believes that Canada has a moral duty to lead by example in defending the oppressed and ensuring that those in peril find safety and justice. We urge you to act swiftly and decisively, reflecting our shared values of compassion, justice, and human dignity.
